Terms of Use

Effective 4 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-04

Agreement

Creating an online DUAUK account requires acceptance of these Terms and the Community Standards, and acknowledgement of the Privacy & Location Notice. Acceptance is recorded against the policy version and is requested again only after a material change.

Research and safety

DUAUK is a research, recording and reference aid. It does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, legality, condition or accessibility of any location, route, entrance or underground working. Never use it as a sole navigation, rescue or emergency system. Users remain responsible for competent planning, equipment, permissions, risk assessment and compliance with the law.

Land, access and conservation

Respect landowners, access agreements, scheduled monuments, protected species, archaeology and conservation requirements. A map marker or Atlas entry does not grant access. Do not use DUAUK to encourage trespass, damage, theft or unsafe entry.

User content

Only submit material you have the right to use. Do not upload another person’s private information without a lawful reason. Users retain ownership of their private content. Sharing grants only the permissions explicitly selected. Public Atlas contributions may be preserved with provenance and revision history rather than edited destructively.

Acceptable behaviour

Users must follow the Community Standards. DUAUK may investigate reports, limit distribution, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve necessary evidence, and contact an appropriate authority where there is a credible safety or legal concern.

Availability and testing

The closed-test build may contain incomplete functions and may change without notice. Cloud sync is not currently available. Testers should keep independent backups of anything important and report problems through the provided support channel.

Ending use

Users may delete their online account in the app or use the public deletion route. Some pseudonymous security and Atlas history may remain for the reasons explained in the privacy notice.
